       <\/p>\n

      Hum \u2013 Journal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Mostar is a scientific journal published by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Mostar. It publishes papers in the fields of humanities and social sciences, with a particular emphasis on the scientific study of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its regional and European context. The central focus of the journal consists of research into language, literature, culture, society, history, and identity, as well as analyses of social processes and ideas essential for understanding Bosnian-Herzegovinian society within its broader humanistic and social connections. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches, while its baseline remains a clear humanistic and social orientation. Hum especially values papers that explore how local and regional phenomena illuminate universal questions of language, culture, and society, as well as those that contribute to the understanding of Bosnia and Herzegovina's position within Southeastern Europe and the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The journal is published twice a year.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Open Access and Copyright<\/strong>
      \nHum is an open-access journal, meaning that the papers published in it can be used free of charge for personal or educational purposes, provided that the source is properly cited. This is in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC 4.0), available at the link: https:\/\/creativecommons.org\/licenses\/by-nc\/4.0\/.
      \nAuthors retain the copyright to their work without any restrictions and grant the publisher the right of first publication. Authors may publish their work in other publications, provided it is clearly indicated where the work was originally published.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Authors do not pay any fees for publishing papers in the journal Hum.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Readers do not pay any fees to access the journal.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Peer Review Process and Categorization of Papers<\/strong>
      \nHum publishes peer-reviewed papers as well as those not subject to the peer review process. Articles subject to peer review are divided into four categories according to general standards: original scientific paper, preliminary communication, review article, and professional paper.
      \nPapers are evaluated based on the criteria of methodological soundness, clarity of argumentation, and scientific contribution. Two double-blind peer reviews are prepared for each article undergoing the review process. Reviewers propose the category of the paper, while the final judgment is made by the Editorial Board.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject papers prior to the peer review process (preliminary editorial assessment).<\/span><\/p>\n

      Acceptance of categorized papers for publication obligates the author not to publish the same article elsewhere without the permission of the Editorial Board.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Uncategorized papers such as commentaries, reviews, and evaluations are not subject to the peer review process and are accepted by the Editorial Board based on its own assessment.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Papers may be written in Croatian or in any world language.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Publishing and Editorial Structure<\/strong>
      \nThe publisher of the journal is the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Mostar. The editorial structure of the journal consists of the Editor-in-Chief, the Managing Editor, the Editorial Board, and the Scientific Advisory Board.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the overall scientific and editorial profile of the journal, making final decisions on the acceptance or rejection of papers, appointing reviewers, and ensuring compliance with ethical and publishing standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The Managing Editor coordinates the editorial process, monitors the progress of the peer review procedure, communicates with authors and reviewers, and manages the technical and organizational preparation of issues for publication.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The Editorial Board participates in shaping the journal's editorial policy, proposes reviewers, provides expert opinions on submitted manuscripts, and contributes to the development of the journal's thematic and scientific profile.<\/span><\/p>\n

      The Scientific Advisory Board consists of prominent national and international scholars who, through their professional authority, support the scientific credibility of the journal, advise the editorial team on strategic development, international visibility, and thematic guidelines, and promote the journal within the academic community.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Editorial decisions are made independently, without influence from the publisher, funders, or other institutions. The Editorial Board guarantees academic freedom, transparency of the review process, and the implementation of international ethical and publishing standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Funding and Publishing Sustainability<\/strong>
      \nThe journal is funded through institutional resources provided by the publisher, as well as potential public grants for scientific publishing. The journal does not generate revenue through advertising.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Archiving and Long-Term Storage<\/strong>
      \nThe journal is archived in the National and University Library of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, the journal ensures long-term digital preservation and permanent accessibility of published papers through the publisher's institutional infrastructure and backup archiving systems.<\/span><\/p>\n

      In the event that the journal ceases publication, the entire digital archive will remain permanently accessible through the publisher's institutional infrastructure.<\/span><\/p>\n
